Welcome to the Hanham Family website.
06/22/12 Back in America!
God bless America! After more than 3 years in South Asia, we have returned home.
“The sun shines bright on my old Kentucky home . . .” We are thankful to be renting this lovely home very near where we had lived before moving to South Asia.
Praise God that Richard’s health continues to significantly improve! He is happy to mow grass again, and Suzanna helps. Our motto is, “The family that mows together stays together!”
Please pray for our friend Terry who is wearing a VAD (heart pump) while he awaits a heart transplant.
It has taken a very long time to get our internet connected and working consistently. It is great to finally have internet speeds which can allow reliable Skype calls.
Mother Louise Hanham married Herb Griffith on Fathers’ Day! We look forward to meeting him and seeing our Canadian family in September!
New Orleans – Southern Baptist Convention
We had a wonderful time in New Orleans at the Southern Baptist Convention!
On Fathers’ Day, we attended Franklin Avenue Baptist Church where Dr. Fred Luter is pastor.
Tuesday, June 19, 2012, Dr. Luter was elected the first African-American president of the Southern Baptist Convention. Although we chatted briefly with him, we were unable to take a good photo; so we borrowed this one from the internet.
Here we are with Elizabeth Luter, wife of Dr. Fred Luter
It was a special treat to meet Pam, the mother of Christy, one of our friends from South Asia. Pam also happens to be the mother of Tim Tebow. She gave an inspirational talk to an overflow crowd of listeners.
Dr. Tom Elliff is President of International Mission Board
We both recently read the biography of Dr. Rebekah Naylor, the “Mother Teresa of Bangalore.” We were honored to meet her for the first time. She was promoting a program for health care missionaries that will take place in October at Rockville, VA. For more information, go to http://www.regonline.com/MedAdvance2012.
May we all follow the example of Christ who “took up the cross” that we may be saved!

Trust in the Lord with your heart,
And lean not on your own understanding;
In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He shall direct your paths.
